Sophisticated Boy Nursery
My current nursery project can be described as sophisticated with a modern touch. The overall color palette is neutral with accents of blacks, grays and rich browns. To give a general timeline, the nursery design started about 4 months ago. The major pieces, which are the DucDuc crib, DucDuc dresser and Jonathan Adler Lampert Lounger, each took approximately 8-10 weeks to make. A West Elm, custom rug, ordered in May, is still in production limbo. It will probably arrive after the baby is born, which isn’t the best scenario since the nursery was designed with it in mind. Luckily, we have a back up rug which will also work.
Here is the layout of the room:
The numbered items are as follows:
1. Jonathan Adler Lampert Lounger
2. Pottery Barn wall shelves
3. DucDuc Austin 4-Drawer Dresser with Restoration Hardware Rope Mirror above
4. Robert Abbey Floor Lamp
5. Monte Design Grano Glider
6. West Elm Silver Martini Table
7. DucDuc Dylan Crib
8. West Elm Andaluscia Rug Iron 8’x10′
The room is approximately 12’x12′, with a wall of windows that provides excellent lighting to the room. Natural lighting is very important in any design. Wall sconces were added because of the lack of overhead lighting due to the concrete slab ceiling. The sconce locations are shown in the floor plan above the daybed.
