"Classic comforts during the holidays"
The vision for the room was to convey a softness in the design, with beautiful wall moldings on crisp, white walls, while adding classic furniture pieces to complement the simple aesthetic. A stunning Chinoiserie table from Dessin Fournir is an elegant statement piece that transitions smoothly with the classic look of the Hastens bed. The leaf-like overhead fixture, from Artemide, is a delicate addition to the space, with its inspiration from nature. This combination of classic furniture complemented with contemporary accents is a great juxtaposition.
CLASSIC COMFORTS DURING THE HOLIDAYS
The room design was inspired by a Hastens saying: “A Classic Never Goes out of Style”. Hastens legacy runs through six generations with the pursuit of making the best hand-crafted beds in the world. With this saying in mind, I wanted to create a comfortable and classic bedroom with character and elegant simplicity. It’s a great place to unwind after long days of holiday shopping and entertaining friends and family. The striking artwork, flirty light fixtures and refreshing white walls make this a charming bedroom to relax the day away.
The Holiday House is a great venue that raises money that goes towards research and finding a cure. It also creates awareness about breast cancer, which is extremely helpful encouraging women/men to have annual screening tests. This awareness will aid in detecting breast cancer earlier. The Holiday House is synonymous with innovative and creative interior design. That’s another reason why I wanted to participate this year. I wanted to design a space that reflected some of my design style and aesthetic without having outside influences to influence the design direction.
